Sorry about the lack of updates. 2 wild shows are happening in Albion and Ann Arbor Dec. 2nd and 3rd. We will be performing all of the new songs that will make up the album we're scheduled to record with Steve Albini in January. If you're unfamiliar with Steve's work we suggest you look him up. Also, all of New Grenada's back catalog of music should be available on iTunes by the end of the year, so check on that from time to time. More on our new record in the coming weeks...

We're going to Lansing MI this Wednesday to play with Casionauts & Tight Phantomz at Mac's; our first time there (gasp). Should be competitive. There is gonna be a special limited edition split 3" available there (between us & the 'nauts), with new live cover favorite "Gear" represented. In other news, More Nature is available on iTunes now for those who have been holding out!

The Athens Popfest was awesome - thanks goes out to our friends (new & old) that were there. Posted a couple pics of our set taken by our friend Mike at Microindie, as well as some pics from the Parting Shots/More Nature Release show taken by Christine Edwards. Looking forward to fest #2 this weekend!

Summer festival season is in effect for NG. This weekend is our first trip to Athens, Georgia. We're playing the Happy Happy Birthday to Me Popfest along with millions of other bands (Of Montreal, Pylon and Kiddo to name a few)... Next weekend we play Detroit's Summer Smash for the 17th consecutive year. Sike. We didn't play last year. Thanks to all who were at our double release show at the Belmont. It was a gigantic success. If you haven't already, you can purchase the LP 'Parting Shots' here, or the EP 'More Nature' here.

A sample song from our “More Nature” EP is up. It's named after one of our old drummers.

Okay, we have some news. August will see us playing several shows (one we just got added to, up in Lansing), and starting it off the weekend before August is our massive, 2 set performance / video debut at the Belmont celebrating our release of 2 new records! We just got the mastered copy of "More Nature" back and it sounds great. The "Parting Shots" discs just left the plant and are are on their way back to us as I type (exciting!). Oh, we also thought you should read this small bit of news - I know this is a little dated, but how could we have missed this?

New Grenada = out. of. control.

Brass knuckles. Tom Cruise. A fencing mask. What do they have in common? Not much, but along with a clip art photo of George Michael circa 1987, they made New Grenada's "some ideas to get your started" portion of their rock dissertation, "How to Make Your Band Successful: The New Grenada Way," which they handed out and politely discussed before spazzing out at 313 Jac at the Motor City Rocks showcase Thursday night. The show ended with a Q&A session and an autograph signing. Some in the audience were confused. I was among them. The band looked like it wanted to trash the entire room, but something -- the threat of lawsuits? respect to the MCR crew? lack of funds for bail money? -- was holding them back. Too bad. I think if New Grenada were allowed to perform entirely on its own terms, it would truly be something to witness. Now about those brass knucks...

Check out the new shows listed, pretty dang sweet.
The EP is coming along radically too. Oh, and our video is mid-progress and going swimmingly.

Our new long player, "
Parting Shots" will be released in July by the dynamite folks at Asaurus. It will coincide with a downloadable "digital" EP on Melodic Virtue.
More mouthwatering details shortly.

The Smalls show was a little weird, but it was good to see some friends there and let off some steam. Sadly, the Kimball Challenger didn't make it thru the set - John's guitar and my feet did a number on it. Thanks to Alicia & TAN! for being sweet to us (regarding broken mics and stuff). On the opposite end of the spectrum, the show in Windsor was great - one of our best shows in a long time! A HUGE thanks to TWFS drummer/NG studio engineer Dave Melkonian is in order for playing a flawless set with us on such short notice. Expect to see more of Dave with us this summer.

This week has some very good shows happening - 2 of them include us. We will be bringing some different keyboards to these shows - white ones that are REALLY big and REALLY small (a Kimball Challenger & a VL-1). Check the shows page for details!
-SHAWN

04.19.05
Thank you to everyone who came to the show last friday and to all of the bands involved with the tribute - we think it's been a great success thus far. On the opposite end of the spectrum, make sure to miss us this Thursday at the MC2, which should be a real treat.

Come to the Magic Stick at 9:00 tonight and celebrate the release of "One Scene To Another." See the feature in this weeks Metro Times. The Recital, The Trembling, The Hard Lessons and New Grenada will change your life forever. I know that sounds impossible, but it's true. Besides, no other bands worth checking out are playing tonight- so what do you have to lose? Plumline is giving away free 7"s to everyone in attendance, another reason to come.

03.30.05
This Saturday, April 2nd, New Grenada will be guests on 97.1 WKRK's Radio Fever show from 9-10pm. We'll be promoting the new Plumline tribute to Canadian indie rock "One Scene to Another," as well as spinning records by our favorite Detroit and Canadian bands. Wicked.

Going to Brooklyn this weekend for a show, come out if you are in the area - you can check out my new handmade sampler stand while you are there. We have a slew of upcoming shows that we are really excited about with most of our favorite bands - including 2 release shows for the Plumline Records tribute to the Canadian indie rock scene.
-SHAWN

01.26.05
We leave tomorrow for a Canadian Minitour - totally exciting! We're hitting Toronto, Windsor, and somewhere in between. Anybody that comes and breakdances harder then Boogaloo Shrimp gets a free Teenwolf shirt. After that we have various shows in NYC, Detroit, and Indiana that will be rad too.

01.07.05
Here's a new site... to match the new album coming out this new year. More on that later. Come to an upcoming show and we will smash you. See you soon!
